AB 1484 Summary and Timeline Available on League Website

The Legislature on Wednesday, June 27 passed AB 1484, the redevelopment budget trailer bill, containing unconstitutional sales and property tax clawback or garnishment provisions.

 

The legislation specifies that if a local successor agency does not make a payment of property taxes to other local taxing agencies by no later than July 12, the Department of Finance is empowered to notify the Board of Equalization to suspend sales tax payments to the affected city, effective July 18.
