Federal Webinar to be Held This Wednesday on Rules Governing Employment of Individuals With Disabilities by Federal Contractors

January 9, 2012
In December, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) issued its notice of proposed rulemaking to update and improve the rules governing employment of individuals with disabilities by federal contractors. This week, DOL announced that it will host a free webinar on Jan. 11 entitled "Affirmative Action and Nondiscrimination Obligations of Contractors and Subcontractors Regarding Individuals With Disabilities" to discuss the proposed changes which would make substantial changes the rules governing Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act.

This webinar has been organized by DOL's Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) and will be led by OFCCP Branch Chief for Policy Naomi Levin. Levin will review the highlights of the proposed rule and share ways in which attendees may weigh in on the process.
