Registration Open for 2012 NLC Congressional City Conference

March 10–14 in Washington, D.C.

It’s not too early to make plans to attend the National League of Cities (NLC) 2012 Congressional City Conference in Washington, D.C.

The final agenda has not been released for the conference but sessions will focus on many key federal policy issues including:
  • Deficit reduction efforts and outlook for federal spending levels;
  • Federal strategies to help create jobs and bolster economic recovery;
  • Regulatory streamlining;
  • Comprehensive economic and community development assistance;
  • Transportation and water infrastructure; and 
  • Public safety. 
Conference speakers include:
  • First Lady Michelle Obama;
  • Sen. Mark Begich (D-Alaska);
  • Rep. Michael Turner (R-Ohio);
  • Trey Grayson, director, Institute of Politics, JFK School of Government at Harvard University;
  • Joe Scarbrough, former U.S. Representative and current host of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe;” and 
  • Mika Brezinski, host MSNBC’s “Morning Joe”
