Submit Your Annual Conference & Expo Session Proposals
The League is currently soliciting education session proposals for its 2012 Annual Conference & Expo. The conference theme is "Cities - Guiding Healthy Government" and the event will be held Sept.5-7 at the San Diego Convention Center.
Submissions, non-commercial in nature, on any topic are welcome. The Annual Conference Program Planning Advisory Committee will review all fully completed submissions received before noon on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012. All session proposals must be received on the League's Annual Conference website.
Proposals must include a title (up to 10 words), description (100 words) and suggested speaker(s) in the online proposal form for one of the formats below:
Breakout Session: A breakout session is a traditional 75-90 minute session where a specific topic is discussed, followed by a questions and answer period, with a maximum of three presenters.
CityTalk: These concise and creative 20 minute sessions are geared towards sharing ideas and changing attitudes city-by-city. These sessions are conducted by one speaker who shares one concept. These talks must offer inspiration and creativity, grounded in substance and driven by data, with a touch of humor and fun. For an example of this type of session, please visit the TED website.
Ignite Session: These fast-paced, thought-provoking five minute sessions gives one presenter a chance to share their personal and professional passions. The presentations use 20 slides that auto-advance every 15 seconds. What conversation can you spark? For an example of an Ignite Session, please visit the Ignite website. These presentations will be recorded and posted to the League's YouTube channel.
