The Public Safety Policy Committee reviews both federal and state legislation and issues and makes recommendations to the League board of directors related to law enforcement, to fire and life safety policies including emergency communications, and to emergency services including ambulance and disaster preparedness. The Committee uses existing League policy, annual conference resolutions and the knowledge and expertise of individual committee members in order to recommend policies in these and related areas.
Policy committees generally meet quarterly, prior to the League board of directors meeting.
The next Public Safety Policy Committee meeting is Friday, January 24, 2014, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. in Sacramento.
Chair: Pete Constant, Council Member, San Jose
Vice Chair: Walt Allen, Mayor, Covina
