Sign up for USC’s Northern California Executive Education Forum for Policy (EXED) for Local Leaders

April 12, 2013
Scheduled April 26–27 at the University of Southern California’s (USC’s) State Capital Center in Sacramento, this is the first time that this program will be held in Northern California.  Successful programs have already taken place at the Southern California campus, with more scheduled for this spring.

Designed for local elected officials, this program offers a focused curriculum in ethics, governance, leadership and public policy to promote and enhance commitment to public value and to reach across sectors. Target audiences for this program are mayors, council members, and supervisors and special district board members.

The topics for the program will include performance management systems, citizen engagement, facilitating responsible governance and the art of leadership. The program will also feature lunchtime speakers Chris McKenzie, executive director of the League, JoAnne Speers, executive director of the Institute for Local Government and Michelle Marchetta Kenyon, partner at Burke Williams Sorensen. The full curriculum description is available online. Interested participants are encouraged to apply ASAP.

This program constitutes a University Level continuing education program that is eligible toward the ‘Advanced Leadership’ level of the League of California Cities’ Mayors and Council Members Department Leadership Academy. Mayors and Council Members who attend may self-report this with their other qualifications to be recognized at the League’s Annual Conference for experience and continuing education.

For any questions about the program, please contact Frank Zerunyan at (213) 740-0036 or Ashley Coelho at (213) 821-8177.
