2013 City Managers’ Department Conference Summary and Save the Date

March 25, 2013
By: Anton “Tony” Dahlerbruch, City Manager, Rolling Hills, President-Elect, City Managers’ Department

CONGRATULATIONS to all for making the 2013 City Managers’ Conference one of the best ever. Your participation resulted in 435 people attending – the highest number in several years and a meeting space “sell-out.”  Through generous and numerous sponsors, we were also able to award seven student scholarships, continue the Australian exchange and accommodate the participation of four Australians at the conference.

By multiple accounts, the conference was a rave success due in large part to the quality keynote speakers, meaningful break-out sessions, opportunities to meet with the Regional Public Affairs Managers, table top discussions, and structure that provided for informal discussions. For those who may have missed the conference, speaker’s presentation materials and podcasts are available on the League’s website.

Finally, mark your calendar for Feb. 5 – 7 in Long Beach for the 2014 conference. The location is exciting and the program will be even better.  We’ll see you there – if not sooner!
