CDC Releases New Travel Monitoring Protocols and Other Guidance on Ebola

White House Hosts Call for Local and State Officials on U.S. Response to Ebola

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) on Wednesday issued new post-arrival monitoring for travelers coming from affected African countries. This protocol includes daily monitoring for travelers entering the U.S. at one of five airports for 21 days following their departure from West Africa.

Strategic Growth Council and Air Resources Board to Hold Workshops on Cap-and-Trade Funds

This week the Strategic Growth Council (SGC) began a series of workshops to discuss preliminary draft guidelines for the Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities (AHSC) program, which will be funded by cap and trade auction revenues. SGC also announced that a satellite workshop location will be available in San Diego on Monday, Oct. 27.

City Managers’ Department Accepting Applications for Three Distinct Awards

Deadline to Submit Applications is Friday, Dec. 5

The League of California Cities’ City Managers’ Department is now accepting nominations for the three prestigious awards presented annually to distinguished members of the department. Please submit your nominations no later than Dec. 5.

Breakdown Available of Proposed Local Taxes and Bonds on November 2014 Ballots

The Nov. 4 California Gubernatorial election includes over 400 local measures including 265 seeking approval for taxes or bonds. The collection features a higher than usual proportion of school bonds and majority vote general purpose taxes which are generally more successful than two-thirds supermajority vote taxes and bonds. Read the full breakdown and analysis by the California Local Government Finance Almanac.
