HUTA Estimates for FY 2013–14, 2014–15 Now Available

The Local Government Finance Almanac today issued city-by-city and county-by-county Highway User Tax Allocation (HUTA) estimates for FY 2013–14 and FY 2014–15. This report was developed using the Department of Finance’s updated estimates of statewide collections of HUTA for the current fiscal year and the next with a model of the local allocations.

UPDATE: Massage Therapy Practitioner Certification Measure Receives Bipartisan Passage in Assembly

League-supported AB 1147 (Gomez) received bipartisan approval from the Assembly this week and is now pending before the Senate Rules Committee for committee assignments. The measure’s passage comes ahead of this week’s deadline requiring bills carried over from the previous 2013 legislative session pass the house they originated in by Friday.

Workplace Violence Safety Act Webinar Scheduled

The League of California Cities’ City Attorneys’ Department is offering a webinar on Feb. 26 from 10–11:30 a.m. on the Workplace Violence Safety Act. The Act allows cities to obtain a temporary restraining order and permanent injunction against any person who has threatened or committed a violent act against a city employee while at work.
