Letters Needed as League Hot Bill AB 1551 is Passed Out of Appropriations, Heads to Assembly Floor

On Wednesday, AB 1551 (Torres) passed out of the Assembly Appropriations Committee with a vote of 16 – 1 and was sent to the Assembly floor. The League urges city officials to send opposition letters immediately.

Bill Would Create Burden for Cities of 100,000 Plus

The League opposes AB 1549 (Gatto), which would outline additional responsibilities for the Office of Permit Assistance and require the office to provide technical assistance to local agencies by developing guidelines for an expedited permit process

The Governor’s Office of Planning and Research (OPR) announced this week that it has released a revised draft of updates to the CEQA Guidelines addressing streamlining for infill development pursuant to SB 226 (Simitian; 2011).
