League-Hosted Federal Sequestration Webinar Set for Oct.10

The League will host a free webinar on Wednesday, Oct. 10 for members and League Partners to learn about federal sequestration. The webinar offers an opportunity to learn the details of potential cuts and how to take action to mitigate potential losses.

Governor Signs Local Government Omnibus Bill Containing Provisions to Clarify Last Year’s SB 244

Last October, Gov. Jerry Brown signed SB 244 (Wolk), which requires cities to update the land use element of their General Plan by the next revision of their housing element to plan for disadvantaged unincorporated communities, including communities outside a city's boundaries if it is in the city's sphere of influence. This year, the League was able to make a small, but important clarification with regards to this onerous requirement.
